I rarely leave negative reviews, but after nearly a month without a working upstairs air conditioner in the middle of a Texas summer, I think it's important to share my experience with other homeowners.
My upstairs Daikin AC system was diagnosed with a leaking evaporator coil that needed to be replaced under warranty. That diagnosis was made on July 7, 2026.
Here's what has happened since:
• The original repair appointment was canceled.
• I was first told the replacement part was incorrect.
• I was later told the replacement part had arrived damaged.
• Since then, I have received virtually no proactive communication. Nearly every update has come because I called or texted the office myself.
• Each time, the answer has simply been, "The part hasn't arrived."
As I write this review, it has been nearly four weeks since the correct diagnosis, and my upstairs air conditioner is still not repaired.
What has been most frustrating isn't that a warranty part may be delayed. I understand that supply chain issues happen. My frustration is the complete lack of communication, transparency, and urgency. No one has contacted me first with an update. I've never been given an estimated timeline or any meaningful explanation of what is being done to resolve the issue. Every conversation ends with the same vague response.
To make matters worse, this is the same company that misdiagnosed the problem on the first visit, telling me to simply lower the thermostat setting. I had to schedule a second service call before another technician correctly diagnosed the leaking evaporator coil, delaying the repair process even further.
I've even contacted Daikin directly to better understand the warranty process, but homeowners are told that warranty part inquiries have to go through the contractor and distributor. That means I'm relying entirely on Right Choice Heating & Air for updates, yet I have no visibility into what, if anything, is being done behind the scenes.
I chose this company because they installed the system less than four years ago, and I expected they would stand behind the products they install and communicate with customers when problems arise. Instead, I've spent weeks chasing updates while living with window units I had to purchase and a home that still cannot be cooled properly.
The quality of an HVAC company isn't measured on the day they install your system. It's measured on the day something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that's where Right Choice Heating & Air has let me down.
If you're considering Right Choice Heating & Air, ask yourself this: If your air conditioner failed under warranty during the hottest part of the summer, would you be comfortable waiting nearly a month with little communication while having to initiate nearly every update yourself?
If Right Choice would like to change my opinion, I'd genuinely welcome it. I don't want special treatment. I simply want honest communication, transparency about what's actually happening, and a commitment to getting my family's air conditioning restored as quickly as possible. I'll gladly update this review if the situation is resolved and the communication improves.

Three fans running in Sweltering humid heat. This was the case for me. My a/c stopped working and the temperature in my house reached almost 90 degrees. Me and my kids couldn’t take it. I looked up several places and I figured I couldn’t go wrong with the right choice. I was told there was a fee for coming out and I was like hmmmm oh well I need this looked at. After there team came to look they told me my a/c needs repairing or replacing. They showed me the cost to repair and immediately said that’s not the way to go. So with his magical pen he showed me that it cost less to replace everything and they gave me upgraded thermostats. Sounded great but they wouldn’t be able to do it till the next day. He asked me if we could rough it out for one more day. I said yes. Then he said you know what. How about we get you a window ac till we can get you fixed up. I was so pleased. While repairing everything the team was Cautious of the children and my Work environment. They set up everything and explained how it worked. And by the end of the day my home was full of fresh cool air.

The AC works great. However, I had some installation issues that needed attention. It has taken several weeks to get them back to resolve things. There is one small issue that needs to be addressed. I didn't want to wait to give a review so I will update this once everything is completed. This is a busy time of year due to the extreme heat so I understand that they are probably extremely busy with emergency repairs and installations.
Joseph did the followup analysis and completed everything in the attic. He did a great job determining the best solution to what otherwise may have been a complex problem. I'm extremely happy with his professionalism and work performed. I still need a repair where the lines from the outside compressors go through the soffet into the attic. Several pieces of vinyl siding were removed and not feplaced, thereby leaving bare, unpainted wood exposed.

Our a/c went out late at night. Called first thing in the morning and the team was able to send Ryan right away. Arrived within two hours of me calling. He was very thorough, personable, and did a fantastic job of fixing our issue quickly. We have two little kids so a hot house is not something we can handle for long. The Right Choice was definitely the right choice. Will call them in the future for assistance.

The service tech was great. The other half not so much. I had the original appointment set since February. Then there was follow up and confirmation, but the day of my appointment, my time period came and went. When I called to see when tech would be here, I was told that I would need to reschedule. I had took time off work. So I took another day off for the second appointment. So now I’m 2 days without pay. When service came, I had to pay for the tech to unclog drain to HVAC. So I ended up 2 days without pay which is $1000’s and had to pay $300 for drain clog. $1300’s out of pocket for which should be a free maintenance service.

I had a great experience with Augustine AC technician. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to properly diagnose what was going on with my AC unit instead of just guessing or trying to sell me something I didn’t need. He explained the issue clearly, answered my questions, and made sure I understood what needed to be done.
It’s hard to find someone who is honest, reliable, and thorough, but he definitely checked all the boxes.

My downstairs neighbors, police and HOA at my front door saying water is leaking in their house. They still haven't arrived I've had no air conditioning for the last twenty four hours. They left the minute they had the chance with out checking for leaks and left no receipt no paperwork no warranty no guarantee.I just came home to water all over my bathroom floor leaking from the ceiling where this company just installed the inside unit above the sink. I now have water leaking when I turn on the sink water and water leaking from the ceiling unit onto my bathroom floor. This company was supposed to send someone and nothing. The young man doing the work is very courteous and respectful he may be overwhelmed with work. I've still got to get a plumber out to find out what is causing water leaking from the ceiling and under the sink. We can see the lines are old and have junk in the PVC for this to be fixed correctly.

Oh my goodness! Having our Air Ducts cleaned was a terrific experience! Cade & Lucas were Friendly, Professional, and Knowledgeable about what we needed. My husband & I were so impressed! I can’t say enough good things about this company! From start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and went above and beyond. This company in my opinion is shady!!! In October they charged my $4800 to replace my "leaky coil" on my unit. After taking the unit out it appeared rusted and looked as if it had been leaking for years. BUT I have their maintenance plan and they were at my house in August because the unit "froze up" according to the tech. So yesterday they came to due the furnace and the tech said that "the ignitor wasn't heating properly". I asked how much it would cost to repair it? The tech said "$586" I asked why so much when the ignitor only cost about $40-50? He answer was "I don't make the prices" I told him to just put it back and I'll change it myself. I proceeded to call the manager but he wasn't in the office but I didn't receive a call back. I called again today and he was still out of the office. I later got a call from a guy claiming to be the owner. I explained to him that I believe they were jacking up the price, he told me "that's the price of doing business and that he had to pay his techs and pay for operating cost for the company". I have no problem with paying for labor but $586 for a $40 part =$546 in labor for a 10 minute job. I told him I would never use his company again. He asked if there was anything he could do to keep me as a customer, I told him I don't trust your company to give me a fair rate and I would never do business with them again.

I had an excellent experience with Ryan from Right Choice. He conducted a thorough inspection of my HVAC system, addressed all necessary repairs, and explained everything clearly along the way. The work included replacing the condensate pipe, repairing the drip pan, insulating parts, and fixing wiring, all of which were completed efficiently and professionally.
Not only was the work done to the highest standards, but the communication and attention to detail were also exceptional. Ryan ensured everything was in perfect working condition before leaving and provided clear documentation, including photos, which were incredibly helpful. My heater wasn’t heating properly. They sent someone out the same day who fixed the problem immediately. They also put together a maintenance list for me to address, if/when I wanted to going forward. Great service. I will have them back.

I'm not sure who came up with the name Right Choice. They have been Wrong Choice since putting in our units. They didn't get permits, left wires hanging out by the outside unit. We've had more problems than enough with this company. We had to go to TDLR and the city because we found out they hadn't got the permits to put the units in. The city red tagged them. Right (Wrong) Choice came out and fixed the problem once the city got involved. However, because we have a parts and labor warranty with them, which was included in the price of the units, we still call them to do maintenance. Until the warranty runs out, we cannot use any legitimate HVAC company. I must add, they don't maintain ANYTHING. We hate to call them because the units work better before they come to do maintenance than after they come. Make it make sense. It seems like they are trying to destroy the units because the warranty will be running out soon and because we put a ding on their reputation with TDLR. Well, they're going to get another ding on their reputation. They are just...SORRY!
So, we called them out to do maintenance on the systems. Now, all of a sudden the downstairs unit needs a compressor. They came out today to put in a compressor around 3:00 pm, I think it was. I received a text message from my husband saying it was 8:52 PM and they were still here. JUST SORRY! While putting the compressor in, they broke our Ecobee thermostat and commenced to put another thermostat in that they had in the truck, which was nowhere near comparable to the Ecobee they took out. THEN, they walked out without fixing anything and didn't even let my husband know they were gone. Where is the ecobee thermostat? It's not theirs. Anyway, needless, to say we are still without air. Make it make sense! I CAN HARDLY STAND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE COMPLETE FAILURES on so many levels, new management or not. If I was a betting person, I'd bet they would never win a competition for who was the best HVAC company. It seems to me they've been working so hard to SEEK and DESTROY that they probably wouldn't know how to win the challenge. Almost every visit has ended with FAILURE and CHAOS! This is the last year of the warranty and they seem to be trying everything to destroy our units. Did I mention, I CAN HARDLY STAND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Until next year, whenever they come cameras will be on them for submission to court. They don't like working with the camera on them probably because it shows that are not capable of fixing the problem. Or, that they're scammers.
I will be submitting a review here every week (or maybe everyday) until our units are completely fixed and until they provide a thermostat comparable to the one we had. I can't stand dealing with this company.

We are Right Choice club members, and we have had an excellent experience with them every time they have been here. This time was no different. Our HVAC system stopped working so we thought it may need refrigerant and called them for service. Randy, our service tech diagnosed a bad blower motor on a 4 year old air handler. We initially decided to have the work covered by our home warranty service, but that is a story for another time about a different HVAC service company. When it became clear we wouldn’t be working with that company, I reconnected with Randy at Right Choice. He was able to get the work covered under the manufacturer’s warranty and just finished replacing the blower motor. Everything is working great as expected! Randy was also able to fix the root cause of the motor failure so that this won’t happen again. He does great work!

Use this company at your own risk. I was sold a brand new air handler in the attic because it was suggested that just cleaning the coils etc would be almost as expensive as a new unit, this was in 2023. I signed up for the maintenance plan along with the duct cleaning service that took over 6 months to complete due to re-scheduling and equipment problems. They actually tried to show up at 7 pm for a 4 hour job. 6 months later our scheduled maintenance service is due and when the tech completes the service he tells us it is not operating properly the pressure is too low, sounds like a warranty issue to me but then I'm told the plenim that was installed on the unit was incorrect size and not in the original price of the unit. My reply was why was it installed incorrectly in the first place! So in order to fix my problem they quoted me another $2400 to fix and then took 5 months getting back to me and offered to install at half price. This is not how business should be handled, they should have taken care of this it was their mistake.

Right Choice was fantastic. They texted me a reminder that my A/C hadn't been looked at and that it was time to look at it. Honestly, I didn't even know that I should be doing this, but I'm glad that I did, because I did have an issue with the A/C several years ago where it stopped working in the dead of summer and required emergency maintenance. So my goal now is to prevent that from happening.
Alfredo Ramos was fantastic. For a low rate, he did a thorough diagnostic workup of my unit and everything related to it and helped me make the decision as to what to do next. He took his time explaining things and clearly knows how these things work. I really enjoyed meeting him and working with Right Choice.

Johnathan did a great job for us. We had a tree root grow into our main house drain and it was totally blocked. He got here very fast and went the extra mile to get the pipe completely clear. I rarely leave negative reviews, but after nearly a month without a working upstairs air conditioner in the middle of a Texas summer, I think it's important to share my experience with other homeowners.
My upstairs Daikin AC system was diagnosed with a leaking evaporator coil that needed to be replaced under warranty. That diagnosis was made on July 7, 2026.
Here's what has happened since:
• The original repair appointment was canceled.
• I was first told the replacement part was incorrect.
• I was later told the replacement part had arrived damaged.
• Since then, I have received virtually no proactive communication. Nearly every update has come because I called or texted the office myself.
• Each time, the answer has simply been, "The part hasn't arrived."
As I write this review, it has been nearly four weeks since the correct diagnosis, and my upstairs air conditioner is still not repaired.
What has been most frustrating isn't that a warranty part may be delayed. I understand that supply chain issues happen. My frustration is the complete lack of communication, transparency, and urgency. No one has contacted me first with an update. I've never been given an estimated timeline or any meaningful explanation of what is being done to resolve the issue. Every conversation ends with the same vague response.
To make matters worse, this is the same company that misdiagnosed the problem on the first visit, telling me to simply lower the thermostat setting. I had to schedule a second service call before another technician correctly diagnosed the leaking evaporator coil, delaying the repair process even further.
I've even contacted Daikin directly to better understand the warranty process, but homeowners are told that warranty part inquiries have to go through the contractor and distributor. That means I'm relying entirely on Right Choice Heating & Air for updates, yet I have no visibility into what, if anything, is being done behind the scenes.
I chose this company because they installed the system less than four years ago, and I expected they would stand behind the products they install and communicate with customers when problems arise. Instead, I've spent weeks chasing updates while living with window units I had to purchase and a home that still cannot be cooled properly.
The quality of an HVAC company isn't measured on the day they install your system. It's measured on the day something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that's where Right Choice Heating & Air has let me down.
If you're considering Right Choice Heating & Air, ask yourself this: If your air conditioner failed under warranty during the hottest part of the summer, would you be comfortable waiting nearly a month with little communication while having to initiate nearly every update yourself?

Three fans running in Sweltering humid heat. This was the case for me. My a/c stopped working and the temperature in my house reached almost 90 degrees. Me and my kids couldn’t take it. I looked up several places and I figured I couldn’t go wrong with the right choice. I was told there was a fee for coming out and I was like hmmmm oh well I need this looked at. After there team came to look they told me my a/c needs repairing or replacing. They showed me the cost to repair and immediately said that’s not the way to go. So with his magical pen he showed me that it cost less to replace everything and they gave me upgraded thermostats. Sounded great but they wouldn’t be able to do it till the next day. He asked me if we could rough it out for one more day. I said yes. Then he said you know what. How about we get you a window ac till we can get you fixed up. I was so pleased. While repairing everything the team was Cautious of the children and my Work environment. They set up everything and explained how it worked. And by the end of the day my home was full of fresh cool air.

The AC works great. However, I had some installation issues that needed attention. It has taken several weeks to get them back to resolve things. There is one small issue that needs to be addressed. I didn't want to wait to give a review so I will update this once everything is completed. This is a busy time of year due to the extreme heat so I understand that they are probably extremely busy with emergency repairs and installations.
Joseph did the followup analysis and completed everything in the attic. He did a great job determining the best solution to what otherwise may have been a complex problem. I'm extremely happy with his professionalism and work performed. I still need a repair where the lines from the outside compressors go through the soffet into the attic. Several pieces of vinyl siding were removed and not feplaced, thereby leaving bare, unpainted wood exposed.

Our a/c went out late at night. Called first thing in the morning and the team was able to send Ryan right away. Arrived within two hours of me calling. He was very thorough, personable, and did a fantastic job of fixing our issue quickly. We have two little kids so a hot house is not something we can handle for long. The Right Choice was definitely the right choice. Will call them in the future for assistance.

The service tech was great. The other half not so much. I had the original appointment set since February. Then there was follow up and confirmation, but the day of my appointment, my time period came and went. When I called to see when tech would be here, I was told that I would need to reschedule. I had took time off work. So I took another day off for the second appointment. So now I’m 2 days without pay. When service came, I had to pay for the tech to unclog drain to HVAC. So I ended up 2 days without pay which is $1000’s and had to pay $300 for drain clog. $1300’s out of pocket for which should be a free maintenance service.

My downstairs neighbors, police and HOA at my front door saying water is leaking in their house. They still haven't arrived I've had no air conditioning for the last twenty four hours. They left the minute they had the chance with out checking for leaks and left no receipt no paperwork no warranty no guarantee.I just came home to water all over my bathroom floor leaking from the ceiling where this company just installed the inside unit above the sink. I now have water leaking when I turn on the sink water and water leaking from the ceiling unit onto my bathroom floor. This company was supposed to send someone and nothing. The young man doing the work is very courteous and respectful he may be overwhelmed with work. I've still got to get a plumber out to find out what is causing water leaking from the ceiling and under the sink. We can see the lines are old and have junk in the PVC for this to be fixed correctly.

Oh my goodness! Having our Air Ducts cleaned was a terrific experience! Cade & Lucas were Friendly, Professional, and Knowledgeable about what we needed. My husband & I were so impressed! This company in my opinion is shady!!! In October they charged my $4800 to replace my "leaky coil" on my unit. After taking the unit out it appeared rusted and looked as if it had been leaking for years. BUT I have their maintenance plan and they were at my house in August because the unit "froze up" according to the tech. So yesterday they came to due the furnace and the tech said that "the ignitor wasn't heating properly". I asked how much it would cost to repair it? The tech said "$586" I asked why so much when the ignitor only cost about $40-50? He answer was "I don't make the prices" I told him to just put it back and I'll change it myself. I proceeded to call the manager but he wasn't in the office but I didn't receive a call back. I called again today and he was still out of the office. I later got a call from a guy claiming to be the owner. I explained to him that I believe they were jacking up the price, he told me "that's the price of doing business and that he had to pay his techs and pay for operating cost for the company". I have no problem with paying for labor but $586 for a $40 part =$546 in labor for a 10 minute job. I told him I would never use his company again. He asked if there was anything he could do to keep me as a customer, I told him I don't trust your company to give me a fair rate and I would never do business with them again.

I'm not sure who came up with the name Right Choice. They have been Wrong Choice since putting in our units. They didn't get permits, left wires hanging out by the outside unit. We've had more problems than enough with this company. We had to go to TDLR and the city because we found out they hadn't got the permits to put the units in. The city red tagged them. Right (Wrong) Choice came out and fixed the problem once the city got involved. However, because we have a parts and labor warranty with them, which was included in the price of the units, we still call them to do maintenance. Until the warranty runs out, we cannot use any legitimate HVAC company. I must add, they don't maintain ANYTHING. We hate to call them because the units work better before they come to do maintenance than after they come. Make it make sense. It seems like they are trying to destroy the units because the warranty will be running out soon and because we put a ding on their reputation with TDLR. Well, they're going to get another ding on their reputation. They are just...SORRY!
So, we called them out to do maintenance on the systems. Now, all of a sudden the downstairs unit needs a compressor. They came out today to put in a compressor around 3:00 pm, I think it was. I received a text message from my husband saying it was 8:52 PM and they were still here. JUST SORRY! While putting the compressor in, they broke our Ecobee thermostat and commenced to put another thermostat in that they had in the truck, which was nowhere near comparable to the Ecobee they took out. THEN, they walked out without fixing anything and didn't even let my husband know they were gone. Where is the ecobee thermostat? It's not theirs. Anyway, needless, to say we are still without air. Make it make sense! I CAN HARDLY STAND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE COMPLETE FAILURES on so many levels, new management or not. If I was a betting person, I'd bet they would never win a competition for who was the best HVAC company. It seems to me they've been working so hard to SEEK and DESTROY that they probably wouldn't know how to win the challenge. Almost every visit has ended with FAILURE and CHAOS! This is the last year of the warranty and they seem to be trying everything to destroy our units. Did I mention, I CAN HARDLY STAND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Until next year, whenever they come cameras will be on them for submission to court. They don't like working with the camera on them probably because it shows that are not capable of fixing the problem. Or, that they're scammers.
I will be submitting a review here every week (or maybe everyday) until our units are completely fixed and until they provide a thermostat comparable to the one we had. I can't stand dealing with this company.

They are supposed to be replacing a compressor and a coil. BTW, it's always a problem with BOTH units. Every time they come, there ends up being a problem with something else. Now, it's the thermostat AGAIN! They can't get the thermostat to come on for the air conditioner. REALLY!!!? It was working before. Watch they say they have to come back next week...after Thanksgiving. Don't ever get parts and labor warranty because you continue to pay for it somehow or another. SMH. Bless their hearts. I'm convinced they'll never get it "right". Maybe they need to change their name to "Wrong" Choice or Absolutely "Wrong" Choice. My husband says give them a chance to fix it before I post a review. I'm posting anyway because no one would believe my prediction afterwards. When they're finished I will, if I'm wrong I will let you know.

We are Right Choice club members, and we have had an excellent experience with them every time they have been here. This time was no different. Our HVAC system stopped working so we thought it may need refrigerant and called them for service. Randy, our service tech diagnosed a bad blower motor on a 4 year old air handler. We initially decided to have the work covered by our home warranty service, but that is a story for another time about a different HVAC service company. When it became clear we wouldn’t be working with that company, I reconnected with Randy at Right Choice. He was able to get the work covered under the manufacturer’s warranty and just finished replacing the blower motor. Everything is working great as expected! Randy was also able to fix the root cause of the motor failure so that this won’t happen again. He does great work!

Use this company at your own risk. I was sold a brand new air handler in the attic because it was suggested that just cleaning the coils etc would be almost as expensive as a new unit, this was in 2023. I signed up for the maintenance plan along with the duct cleaning service that took over 6 months to complete due to re-scheduling and equipment problems. They actually tried to show up at 7 pm for a 4 hour job. 6 months later our scheduled maintenance service is due and when the tech completes the service he tells us it is not operating properly the pressure is too low, sounds like a warranty issue to me but then I'm told the plenim that was installed on the unit was incorrect size and not in the original price of the unit. My reply was why was it installed incorrectly in the first place! So in order to fix my problem they quoted me another $2400 to fix and then took 5 months getting back to me and offered to install at half price. This is not how business should be handled, they should have taken care of this it was their mistake.

Right Choice was fantastic. They texted me a reminder that my A/C hadn't been looked at and that it was time to look at it. Honestly, I didn't even know that I should be doing this, but I'm glad that I did, because I did have an issue with the A/C several years ago where it stopped working in the dead of summer and required emergency maintenance. So my goal now is to prevent that from happening.

Johnathan did a great job for us. We had a tree root grow into our main house drain and it was totally blocked. He got here very fast and went the extra mile to get the pipe completely clear. He is very professional and efficient at his job. 10/10 would recommend. He really saved us a lot of headache before the long weekend.
